Yebba has officially unleashed her stunning debut album Dawn. The 12-track body of work was preceded by singles like “Boomerang” and “All I Ever Wanted” and the project includes just two features from A$AP Rocky and Smino. For the latter, she presented her “Louie Bag” single that sees her beautifully narrating the pain:

Move it in ship it out/ Tell me if they want some more cause I get that fire it’s coming for you now/ Friends are fallin off talking shit for no reason checking all my locks cause it’s robbin season now/ They cut my palms with paper, made from her autumn leaves/ I’m bleeding out disclaimers

Yebba’s career has been fruitful, as she’s already won a Grammy (for a 2019 collaboration with PJ Morton) and over the past five years has collaborated with Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, A Tribe Called Quest, and Chance the Rapper. Recently, the singer also has made headlines everywhere this week for her appearance on Drake’s freshly released Certified Lover Boy album. She also handed Lucky Daye a noteworthy assist earlier this year for his Table for Two EP.

She also recently took the time to candidly explain her state of mind during the creation of the project. “I think because I was in this state of disgust with life and shock and loss, whatever was in my bloodstream from all of the years of listening to music, that was all,” she said in a recent interview about the album. “I’ve never said, ‘Oh, I wanna sit down and I wanna write a country song, or I wanna write a pop song.’ I had no reference. I just wasn’t thinking about how shit sounds, I just kind of wrote things.”

Be sure to press play on Yebba’s brand new debut album Dawn.
