Megan Thee Stallion is turning things up this month. A week and a half ago, the Houston star liberated a new freestyle titled “Outta Town,” a track that continues the momentum Megan started with her June release “Thot Shit.” Yesterday (August 22), she kept it going with another freestyle titled “Tuned In,” a Juicy J and OG Parker-produced effort that’s filled with the boastful, confident bars that fans have come to expect:
“Talk about something y’all like, stop talkin’ ‘bout me, since y’all hate a bitch so much, the way broke bitches coming for me, know it gotta be free, but I get paid when I show up, pressed, stressed, obsessed, I got ‘em, everything I do keep another bitch talking, watching my back ‘cause these dudes be stalking, watching my plate got these broke hoes starving...”
The accompanying clip for “Tuned In Freestyle” sees Megan in the studio while recording, twerking, and enjoying a drink. Simply put, she’s having fun creating music — despite any hate and controversy that she’s experienced.
Last year, Megan Thee Stallion delivered both the EP Suga, which contained nine cuts and a couple of contributions from Kehlani and Gunna, and Good News, a 17-track debut LP that saw additional appearances from DaBaby, City Girls, SZA, Popcaan, Mustard, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Young Thug, and Beyoncé — the last of whom joined Megan on a remix of her chart-topping single and Suga standout “Savage.” Good News also took the number one spot on the Billboard 200 during its first week out, thanks to 100,000 album equivalent units sold — the album has also since earned Megan a Platinum certification. As previously reported by REVOLT, Megan spoke on what we can expect from her next body of work in an interview with Essence:
“I feel like [my new album] will be aggressive ... I feel like this project is definitely something very well thought-out. This project is me talking my shit, getting back comfortable with myself [and] getting back to the Megan that was on the come-up.”
