Back in February, Neek Bucks unveiled his latest project Neighborhood Hov, a 12-track offering that saw additional appearances from Sleazus Bhrist, Lil Tjay, Tsu Surf, G Herbo, and more. Around the time of its release, he explained the meaning behind the album’s title to Billboard, revealing that what JAY-Z is “to the culture of hip-hop” is a perfect representation of what he is to his Bronx neighborhood.

Following the release of Neighborhood Hov comes a visual for the standout cut “Pain,” an emotionally charged number that features an assist from Griselda general Benny The Butcher. Produced by Triple A, Mestizo, and Dizzy Banko, “Pain” sees the two artists rapping about deep scars due to their rough upbringings:

“They only see me strolling shit, they ain’t feel like I got feelings, it was different, I ain’t feel you was my nigga, I been sliding with them hitters, made a couple niggas feel it, so forgive us, what a feeling when you made it through them killings, shit, man, listen/

Without my heart involved, I still wish you niggas the best, you know it’s all love, shit, I ain’t love you niggas no less, you know that broke shit, it had me depressed, but now I rap the same shit that made me stuff a quarter-brick in my vest/”

Prior to Neighborhood Hov, Neek Bucks made big waves on the rap scene with El Barrio and El Barrio 2, released in 2018 and 2019, respectively. Since then, he’s blessed his fans with top quality cuts like “Swervin” with Sosa Geek, “We On” with Prada Wavez, “Love Song” with Egypt Ajaee, “Voices” with Stunna Gambino, “Goat,” and — most recently — “2021.”

Fans can Press play on Neek Bucks and Benny The Butcher’s “Pain” and, for those that missed it, a full stream of Neighborhood Hov.
