Nasty C Scene from “Black and White” video

In August, Nasty C shared his Zulu Man With Some Power project. Fans instantly gravitated towards his collaboration with songstress Ari Lennox titled “Black and White.” The song has finally received an official music video, with Ari playing Nasty’s love interest. For the song’s hook, the duo feeds off each other’s vocals and goes back and forth:

It could be so simple, black and white, yeah. You come first like rent due, I see your potential, It could be so simple, black and white, yeah/ Don’t make it complicated. I’ll be your peace, you be my baby, yeah/ Cut off my bitches for my favourite. For my my black and white, yeah. For my my black and white, yeah.

The visual shows a love story from the perspectives of both lovers from thousands of mils apart, Ari residing in D.C. and Nasty staying put in Cape Town, South Africa. Although there’s a great distance between them, the video is a reminder to do what what you can to keep the connection strong by sending cute messages, thoughtful gifts, and more. Nasty C’s Zulu Man With Some Power included 20 tracks and features from names like T.I., Lil Gotit, Lil Keed, and Tellaman. The “Black and White” track is included in the official soundtrack for the Coming 2 America movie.

Ari Lennox’s last full length solo project was 2019’s Shea Butter Baby, which boasts well-loved hits like “BMO,” “Whipped Cream” and “Shea Butter Baby” with J. Cole. Since then, Ari could also heard singing verses and hooks all over her label Dreamville’s Revenge of the Dreamers III project and on Skip Marley’s EP Higher Place on the song “Make Me Feel” alongside Rick Ross. She also shared a surprise loosie for her fans titled “Cognac Eyes.”
