In the midst of troubling times, Mack Wilds and super producer Salaam Remi have teamed up to share a new single and visual that reminds us to cherish the positives we have, like family time and a change of pace. “Home Vacation (FamilyOverEverything)” comes paired with a touching, family-oriented new visual directed by Mack himself. The single will appear on Salaam’s Black on Purpose LP due out later this fall.

“Home Vacation” is co-written by James Fauntleroy alongside Mack Wilds, and co-produced by Salaam Remi and James Poyser. In the video, Mack Wilds shares his most cherished moments during quarantine with his partner Christina Hammond and their daughter Tristyn. “It’s been heartening to see Mack express his fatherhood journey through music,” says Salaam.

Wilds himself took to Instagram to share a few words as well about what the new single and visual mean to him, as he hopes his new release will help people feel more at peace and ease.

“It’s a crazy time we’re in right now. No matter who you are, you’re at war. Be it with the pandemic, the racial tension, the political climate, or just the things going on within the walls of your home. So I pray this song helps create a place of solace for you and your family during these trying times, whether you out and about or in the crib chillin’. This is Home Vacation. Directed by me.”

The Black on Purpose LP will feature Nas, Jennifer Hudson, Case, Bilal, Busta Rhymes, Chronixx, Spragga Benz, MuMu Fresh, and Doug E Fresh, Stephen Marley, and plenty more. In July, fans were able to check out a new visual from the project for “Is It Because I’m Black,” which sees assistance from Black Thought, CeeLo Green, Anthony Hamilton, Stephen Marley, and Syleena Johnson. Following that, he delivered another the new single in August “Black Love,” which features Teedra Moses and D-Nice.
