Today saw the release of Mozzy’s latest album Occupational Hazard, which sees 14 tracks and additional appearances from Tsu Surf, Stacy Barthe, Wale, Quando Rondo, YFN Lucci, and more. Following the album’s release, the Bay Area star reveals a new visual for “Never Lackin,” which sees the Sacramento emcee rapping about the negatives of street life:

“We just some well known factors, occupational hazard, hella slappers, in the saddle, runnin’ paddles where it matters, tryna tag you with this blapper, n***a, and once you write it, you a ratchet, you can’t retract it, n***a/

That’s ass backwards, I’m a gangster first and then a rapper, this ain’t a buzz, gon’ get me thundered if I’m ever captured, it ain’t no leakin’, ain’t no loafin’, we ain’t never lackin’, said it ain’t no leakin’, ain’t no loafin’, we ain’t never lackin’…/”

The accompanying clip comes courtesy of Suj and depicts a story of a youth who’s caught up in the streets. As things usual go, a decision to retaliate appears to lead to that young man’s unfortunate death.

As previously reported by REVOLT, Mozzy revealed via press release the meaning behind the creation of Occupational Hazard:

“This is my favorite project to date out of all my EPs, mixtapes, albums. I had to get back to the old me, the Hellgang Mozzy and bring people that heat that talks directly to the streets. My last album Beyond Bulletproof was something catered to the masses, but Occupational Hazard is for those who live a certain lifestyle. With Occupational Hazard I want to let people know it’s not always velvet or rainbows at the end of the tunnel. When you choose to maneuver and make your money a certain way, there can be consequences that come with that, but own it, embrace it, don’t dwell on it. Know what you signed up for and take the ups and downs with pride.”
