Mere months after the release of his latest LP Beyond Bulletproof, Mozzy took to social media to announce that his next album, Occupational Hazard, will be making landfall this month. Added to the announcement is a new single titled “Death Is Callin,” which is produced by Jay P Bangz and sees the Sacramento rapper continuing his stories of gang life and the streets:

“Big dawg, my circumference is full of those, I’m uncomfortable ‘round these h*** ‘cause I know they gave ‘em the drop, my dawg facin’ murder, they think I gave him the chop, paid attorney service, they think I gave him the guap…/”

The accompanying visual sees Mozzy with a few cohorts, riding around the city in a beat up Civic. By the clip’s end, they execute an attack by running into an apparent enemy house, with gun shots seen going off through the window. The group then hops into the car and get away as quickly as they arrived — a dark situation that perfectly matches the realism in Mozzy’s rhymes.

Prior to “Death Is Callin,” Mozzy released Beyond Bulletproof in May, which boasted 13 tracks and additional appearances from Shordie Shordie, G Herbo, King Von, Eric Bellinger, Polo G, his brother E Mozzy, and more. That album earned him a top 50 spot on the Billboard 200 during its first week of release.

In a recent interview with REVOLT, Mozzy spoke on how he’s been faring during the quarantine:

“I’m loving it. I’ve always been a social distance type of person, so this is right up my alley. I hate that there’s no malls I could walk through and feel the love from the people. I also hate that we can’t sit down inside of a restaurant and buss down. Outside of that, I’m enjoying it.”

Press play on “Death Is Callin” below. Occupational Hazard is set to be released September 22.
