After building up anticipation for what he’s about to do next, Sacramento’s very own Mozzy releases his newest project, Occupational Hazard. The project includes guest appearances from Wale, Quando Rondo, YFN Lucci, and more, and was led by his singles “Death Is Callin” and “Streets Ain’t Safe” featuring fellow West Coast artist BLXST.

In a heartfelt statement about his new project, he proudly proclaims Occupational Hazard is his favorite body of work to date, and he reflected back to his early days to tap into what his fans love the most about him:

“This is my favorite project to date out of all my EPs, mixtapes, albums. I had to get back to the old me, the Hellgang Mozzy and bring people that heat that talks directly to the streets. My last album Beyond Bulletproof was something catered to the masses, but Occupational Hazard is for those who live a certain lifestyle. With Occupational Hazard I want to let people know it’s not always velvet or rainbows at the end of the tunnel. When you choose to maneuver and make your money a certain way, there can be consequences that come with that, but own it, embrace it, don’t dwell on it. Know what you signed up for and take the ups and downs with pride.”

Mozzy normally spends about a year in between creating and releasing projects, but this time he kicked into overdrive and spent countless nights in the studio to finish this project in only a month. Earlier in 2020, Mozzy released Beyond Bulletproof, his fifth studio album which dropped back in May. His project featured artists like Polo G, Shordie Shordie, and Eric Bellinger and peaked at #43 on the Billboard 200.

Hailing from Sacramento’s Oak Park neighborhood, Mozzy reached the ears of a mainstream audience after appearing on 2018’s #1 Grammy-nominated Black Panther soundtrack. In 2019 he gifted fans with Internal Affairs, but we also received Blood Cuzzins, which was a collaboration album with Tsu Surf that also dropped in 2019.
