It’s been two years since the release of Cardi B’s well-received debut Invasion Of Privacy, which saw 13 tracks and appearances from Migos, Chance The Rapper, SZA, 21 Savage, Kehlani, YG, and more. That album went on to earn Cardi her first number one album on the Billboard 200 thanks to an impressive 255,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release — the project has since been certified double Platinum.
Since then, Cardi has been enjoying her well-deserved life on the A-list, providing assists for artists like Ed Sheeran, Jennifer Lopez, Rita Ora, her writing partner Pardison Fontaine, DJ Snake, City Girls, French Montana, and her husband Offset. She’s also released a few high charting new singles of her own, including “Money,” “Please Me” with Bruno Mars, and “Press.” Now, the New York City star is back with a fresh cut titled “WAP,” which features assistance from Megan Thee Stallion.
“I’m not going to be doing a lot of songs. I don’t know if I’m gonna even drop music this year anymore because everything I’m working on right now is straight to my album ... And I think I’m gonna name my album Tiger Woods because remember when everybody was talking s*** on Tiger Woods and then he f***ing came and won that green jacket? That’s what I’m gonna name my album.”
Megan Thee Stallion has been enjoying a renaissance of her own, having released her top ten charting EP Suga back in March. More recently, she unveiled her new single “Girls In The Hood,” which samples Eazy-E’s late 80’s classic “Boyz-n-the-Hood.”
