Currently, Sleepy Hallow and Sheff G are taking over the Empire state and the frontrunners of the still-evolving drill movement. This week, the New York emcees join forces on the track “Tip Toe,” which sees the frequent collaborators keeping things very street over production from Great John:

“Tip toe, pockets on fat like a hippo, I turn your wife to a widow, bro just got blood on his new coat/

Damn, hol’ on, huh, f*** it, I gave her d*** and she love it, ask that b***h what she want, she said, ‘Nothin’,’ Birkin bag on her back and she frontin’.../”

Last month, Sheff G unearthed his new EP Just 4 Yall, which saw five new tracks and assists from Rich The Kid, Lil Tjay, King Von, Jay Critch, and more. Prior to that, he liberated the project One and Only in May, which succeeded last year’s The Unluccy Luccy Kid. At the same time, Sleepy Hallow revealed his own projects Sleepy Hallow Presents: Sleepy For President and Don’t Sleep. All of the aforementioned projects also saw a plethora of collaborations from the two artists.

In a recent feature with Complex, Sheff G revealed how connected the Brooklyn drill movement was to their UK and Chicago counterparts:

“In the beginning, with Brooklyn, it was so entertaining to everybody because it was like, ‘Damn, that’s not going on where I’m from.’ It’s like watching a movie [to them], ... But where we’re at, it’s really going on. Same thing with Chicago, same thing with the U.K.”
