Lil Durk continues to deliver dope visuals from his latest release Just Cause Y’all Waited 2. This time, it’s for the Cardo and DY Krazy-produced “Street Prayer,” which sees the Chicago emcee pouring his heart out about the street life and his struggles within:
“I ain’t put that on they lawyer, they got them title, the way you wrote that statement, you a writer/
Told on ‘em in the station, gave ‘em right up, DD did time with no lawyer, it’s survival/
I’ma cut your ass right off, hang with my rivals, catch a case while you a felon, I’ll say it’s my gun/
They got my picture in the feds, say I’m a Disciple, they say I switched up ‘cause I don’t believe in the Bible.../”
The video comes courtesy of CrownSoHeavy, and sees Durk seemingly providing his incarcerated self with a word of encouragement in the midst of losing loved ones to the streets. He can also be seen providing food to the homeless, and engaging in prayer with his Muslim compadres.
Just Cause Y’all Waited 2 was released earlier this month and sees 15 new tracks from the OTF head honcho, as well as additional appearances from Lil Baby, Polo G, Gunna, and G Herbo. The project earned Durk a top five spot on the Billboard 200, thanks to 57,000 album equivalent units sold.
“I ain’t never really been out, like, if i go to the studio, I’ll just go to the studio by myself, to a studio that’s shut down... At first I ain’t go outside at all, period. But then I’ll... shoot videos, or I’ll go to the grocery store more, stuff like that.”
