Casanova has been pretty busy lately. In the last couple of months alone, the Brooklyn emcee has delivered quality visuals for “Woah,” “In My Hood,” “Why You Lie,” and — given current events — “CoViD 19.” Today, he continues his productive output with “Stress,” which is produced by Yung Tago and TnTXD and sees Cas keeping it real about his PTSD and overall mental health:

“I’m takin’ pain meds, I swallow these until I feel brain dead, layin’ in my couch in house in my Ray Bands/

Feelin’ like Gotti with a shottie, I’m a made man, f***, I robbed my man for a couple pounds/

’Cause he was up, I’m down, and there was nothin’ ‘round, s***, I’m takin’ uppers now/

’Cause he tryna hunt me down, so I gotta keep a gun around, just in case I gotta gun him down…/”

“Stress” and Casanova’s aforementioned cuts follow 2019’s Behind These Scars, which features assistance from Fabolous, Gunna, Young Thug, Chris Brown, Giggs, and more. Prior to that, he dropped his Free At Last EP with producer 30 Roc earlier in the year. His Roc Nation debut Commissary dropped back in 2018.

Recently, Casanova sat down with Bizkit for the REVOLT show “Wow That’s Crzy,” where he spoke on his past controversy in regards to the Coronavirus pandemic. Back in March, he found himself the subject of media and public scrutiny when he filmed himself shooting a music video against protocol. Now, he sees the result of his and others actions who don’t take the situation seriously:

“My man brought me to the hospital, I started seeing how much people was sick and laying down… Old people couldn’t breathe, and then certain friends and family members started getting it, then I was like, ‘Oh yea, this is serious.’”
