Back in March, Trippie Redd revealed that his next album, titled Pegasus, was on the way during a livestream with past collaborator Sahbabii. He then further confirmed the project during a recent interview with Lyrical Lemonade in much more detail:

The direction on the album is supposed to feel mystical. Like dreamy, nostalgic, outer space. Everything is gonna feel like some off-the-wall fairy tale type shit. For example, I got songs on there called “Pink Pixie Dust”, a self-titled song “Pegasus”, a song named “Fairy Tales”, a song named “The Milky Way”. It’s all going in that direction. “Love Scars 4” will be on this album too.

Following Trippie’s recent video for “YELL OH” with Young Thug comes a new single titled “Excitement,” which he teased on Instagram in April. Produced by OZ, Nik D, and Deats, the sultry cut is a collaboration with PARTYNEXTDOOR that’s clearly ready-made for the bedroom:

“Shawty, your body is so exciting, I love when you get on top and you ride it/

Only in your ocean, you call me Ho-seidon, in control of your water, you’re lovin’ my trident/

Sex ain’t the only thing that’s on my mind, but you get me so excited, woah, irreplaceable.../”

Pegasus will follow the 2019 mixtape A Love Letter To You 4, which was re-released in Deluxe form with additional tracks back in February. That project featured a slew of artists, including Juice WRLD, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Tory Lanez, DaBaby, and Lil Yachty. A Love Letter To You 4 also became Trippie Redd’s first number one album on the Billboard 200, thanks to 104,000 equivalent album units sold. Last year also saw the release of Trippie’s second studio LP !, which also landed within the top ten of the Billboard albums chart.

Press play on “Excitement” below, which comes with a simple-yet-effective visualizer. Hopefully, Pegasus will be arriving soon.
