Back in March, hip hop super-producer Murda Beatz dropped a new single titled “Banana Split,” which features assistance from YNW Melly and Lil Durk. Co-produced with Swiss beatsmith OZ, the track mixes Melly and Durk’s street bars with a upbeat, dance-ready soundscape perfect for the clubs, whenever they finally reopen post-quarantine:

“It’s a red dot in your window, when you go to sleep with extendo/

My n***a softer than a f***in’ pillow, buy a Tempur-Pedic, that’s super soft/

Bih’ wanna eat on the d***, huh, bih’ wanna go hit a split, huh/

I don’t want that sundae, fuck that banana split…/”

Today, the fun collaboration gets an animated visual courtesy of Pixel Pirate Studio, which sees the trio visiting some cartoon eye candy in a mansion. Soon after, they find themselves caught up in the middle of a money heist with some armed goons.

The track is said to be from the forthcoming Murda Beatz release Keep God First 2, which acts as the official sequel to 2016’s Keep God First. “Banana Split” also follows the equally dope singles “Fortnite” featuring Lil Yachty, Ski Mask the Slump God, and Yung Bans, and the Lil Pump and Sheck Wes-assisted “Shopping Spree.”

It’s also something new to enjoy for YNW Melly fans, as the Floridian star is still currently incarcerated — and has unfortunately tested positive for COVID-19. According to various reports, Melly is being given Gatorade and Tylenol for his symptoms after being denied a request to be released. He’s been in Broward County Jail for over a year following an arrest on double murder charges.

Press play on “Banana Split” below. If you missed it, up-and-coming producers can still get their hands on Murda’s Quarantine Pack, which was created in conjunction with Splice and consists of different drums for beatmakers to utilize for their own masterpieces.
