It’s been about a year and a half since Jim Jones released his seventh studio album El Capo, which originally boasted 16 cuts and plenty of features from Trav, Fat Joe, Rick Ross, Cam’ron, Maino, Fabolous, Curren$y, Jadakiss, Benny The Butcher, and more. The project was also considered by many to be one of the best hip hop releases that year, proving that the Dipset general hasn’t lost a touch in regards to the quality street classics he’s known for.

Today, he unveils a deluxe version of El Capo that adds on another 15 songs, making for what is essentially a brand new body of work. The new batch also comes with new collaborations alongside the likes of Juelz Santana, Dave East, and Conway The Machine.

2020 has seen plenty of drops from Jim Jones prior to El Capo (Deluxe), including dope visuals for tracks like “Love Of The Hustle,” “Nothing Lasts,” and “Election.” He’s also contributed show-stealing verses for other peers’ tracks like Juelz’s “Pink Eagle,” Grafh’s “Customer,” Philthy Rich’s “Miami Quarantining,” Millyz’s “Heightened Senses,” Vado’s “Checkmate,” and, most recently, DJ Kay Slay’s “Man Down.”

Another big moment for fans of Jim Jones was seeing him reunite with French Montana following a lost-standing beef this past April — they allowed the viewers to see the peace-making via an exchange on Instagram Live:

“There’s a lot of foolish beefs and foolish shootings and there’s a lot going on right now with everybody cooped up in the house.”

This week even saw Jones and Montana connecting following the latter’s community event with volunteer organization City Harvest that provided 500 turkeys to residents in the community for the Thanksgiving holiday. Judging from a recent Instagram post caption, it’s also possible that a music video featuring the duo could be in the works.
