Just last week, SAINt JHN unleashed his While The World Was Burningalbum. One collaboration track with Kanye West wasn’t enough, as the NY emcee swiftly swings back around to release a brand new single “Smack DVD” featuring ‘Ye once again. On the song, SAINt JHN demands his respect:

I got diamond ‘round my neck, twenty thousand, Pay me my respect, pullin’ hund’s up. Tell a n***a “Yeah, you are not a threat.” Frighten a nigga, yeah, bust it, no regret. N***a, choppa goin’ acapella, rock the roof for really. I might spend a quarter milli’, bein’ broke is my Achilles, n***a, bought the fuckin’ duty-free liqour that I’m buyin’ for some niggas that I only see inside of me, I light it. I’m not sayin’ this shit is top ten, but I been lit.

The While The World Was Burning album boasts an impressive roster of assists including names like Lil Uzi Vert, Kanye West, Future, JID, 6lack, DaBaby, and A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, and Kehlani. Most recently, SAINt presented a “Monica Lewinsky, Election Year.” The new video follows the previously released visuals for “Sucks To Be You,” “Gorgeous,” “Roses (Remix),” and “Ransom.” Prior to that, he dropped his sophomore offering, Ghetto Lenny’s Love Songs, in 2019, which contained collaborations alongside Meek Mill, Lil Baby, and Lenny Kravitz.

In a recent sit down with Complex, SAINt JHN discussed what kept him going in the industry:

“I know how slow the world is to new ideas. We are all resistant to things that force us to change or to grow. Change is usually uncomfortable, and it’s a slow process. So if I’m the guy that I think I am, and I’m making the music that I think I’m making, then it would make sense that it wouldn’t happen right away. If the bar is raised, then people will have to be told that the bar is raised. They’ve got to be comfortable with the new standard, and that’s going to take time.”
