Back in August, rising star Aaria released the single “Thug Love,” which stands for Trustworthy, Humorous, Understanding, and Genuine” and came complete with a visual co-starring Atlanta rapper Trouble. Now, she returns with a remix featuring assistance from Bronx emcee DreamDoll, which sees the two artists singing about their preferred love over production from Derrick “WhiteNoize” White and Shaun “TheAnswer” Harris:

Don’t need ya bag, just give me your time, I wouldn’t care if that’s all you had, can you keep it real and hold me down when it get bad? Wanna love with no cap, want all the strings attached, got a n***a wondering where it’s at/

I’m looking for something more, something real, so deep, the kinda love that’s enough, for a thug like me, I need a thug love…/”

Via press release, Aaria spoke on how the collaboration came together:

“I felt that DreamDoll would make a perfect fit for the song and her egotism just brought big empowering vibes to the song … when I released the snippet of the song, everyone was asking for the full version and my team, No Rules Entertainment, had surprised me with the DreamDoll verse.”

Raised in Detroit, Aaria spoke to AllHipHop about her upbringing and how it helped to mold her as an artist, revealing that her Trinidadian mother was a singer as well:

“There’s a void, the city really needs to put out an R&B artist right now. We need good R&B music, which is what I’m bringing. My grandfather was a pastor. I wouldn’t say strict, but definitely grew up in a Christian household. That background started my singing, started singing in church.”
