Tiwa Savage knows when it comes to videos, she never comes up short. “My visuals??? Y’all know I don’t play and I’m about to prove it again,” she confidently types on Instagram before unleashing her latest one “Tales By Moonlight” featuring Amaarae this week.

Back in August, Tiwa Savage unleashed her Water & Garri EP. The project spanned five tracks and boasted appearances from Nas, Rich King, Amaarae, Tay Iwar, and Brandy. Tiwa kept the project’s momentum alive by presenting the stunning official visual for the Brandy-assisted track “Somebody’s Son” from the EP. In the freshly released “Tales By Moonlight” visual, the two songstresses feed off of each other’s energy thanks to the smooth lyrics:

6 foot 5, act your size, I’ve been shy, now I go talk my mind/ Will you show me? You’ve been slow got me on my tippy toe tippy toe/ Kini mo ra ni su lerun, para, oh
Fine boy, para, oh, see shine, shine bobo, yara okon mi wa lo no para, oh/ Fine boy, para, oh, see shine, shine bobo

Tales by moonlight na dis kind love/ Ti mo fe mo I see strong signs, I no fi give ’til I know it’s real, I know it’s real

Produced by Cracker Mallo, “Tales By Moonlight” references a children’s television program of the same name. The show was set in a village and featured an adult who narrated traditional African folklore. “On this song I remember (that) program I watched as a child and I’m basically saying that I want to experience the fairytales with the happy endings that were in those stories – this is the kind of love that I want to feel,” Tiwa says about the song.
