Earlier this month, SauceGod unveils a new single titled “C.C.” (or “Codeine Cowboy”), which sees him keeping it real about his issues with vices:

“I been runnin’ round on dope, don’t ask me if I’m geeked ’cause you know, no mo’ pills, but I’m still codeine, I barely feel shit and I don’t sleep … I’m Ray Charles to the hate but I see, I am just somethin’ you niggas can’t be, if you can’t handle the trap, you should leave … these niggas really don’t like me and I know…”

Via press release, SauceGod further explained the release, revealing that it was birthed from an unplanned long-term stay during last year’s quarantine:

“I was visiting Dallas in the Summer of 2020 and got stuck here during the lockdown. Giving up pills had me in a weird headspace, but the upside of that experience was the birth of this record.”

“C.C.” follows two well-received singles from the Virginia talent — “Better,” which sees production from Lou Xtwo, and the Dee B-backed “Foreign Fevers.” Those in turn followed the five-track EP The Lone Wolf, which made landfall back in December and featured some dope, genre-bending soundscapes courtesy of JudahBeats (the same beatsmith behind “C.C.”). The opening track from The Lone Wolf, “F.T.S.,” immediately proves how SauceGod has been mastering his unique sound from time:

“Y’all niggas ain’t my niggas, y’all are not my dogs, I seen real niggas turn to snakes when that bread got involved, they sent my grandad up that road cause he was playing with raw, big sauce ain’t speaking on shit if he know I ain’t nothing like y’all, fuck that shit, I slept on the floor with my niggas but now I got racks in the bed, fuck that shit, you play with my niggas or speak on my family it’s ten on your head, call a hit, gotta watch what I say on my songs cause these niggas really be Fed…”
