Lil Nas X is finding humor in what others may deem to be an embarrassing situation. On Monday (Dec. 6), the “Industry Baby” emcee hopped on social media and let fans know he took a tumble during a recent performance.

“Swipe to see me being the king of bussin my ass on stage,” he wrote alongside images and videos. In one of the clips, Lil Nas, who was performing at the Audacy Beach Festival in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is captured as he topples backward while attempting to prevent his hot pink skirt from falling.

“The universe was determined to embarrass me yesterday lmao,” he added on Twitter. Instead, however, the “Montero” star quickly recovered, continuing on with his performance as if nothing happened.

Throughout the course of his career, Lil Nas has displayed his sense of humor through trolling, clap-backs at haters and a few of his own visuals. After Nike sued him for selling knockoff Air Max 97s, for example, he poked fun at the case in a video promoting his “Industry Baby” video. On another occasion, he trolled Drake by recreating the Certified Lover Boy artwork, which featured emojis of pregnant women, with emojis of pregnant men. He even cracked a few jokes while accepting the Innovator of the Year Award at Variety’s Hitmakers Brunch over the weekend.

“It’s been like a pretty crazy year,” Lil Nas said. “It’s been a pretty fun year. I had a lot of fun pissing people off.”

“I’m kidding,” he added. “This year took a lot of mental strength for me just to even continue to keep pushing after my debut reached such a high place so, so quickly, and it’s very scary to try to follow up and keep it going. But I came out. I was myself. I did what I needed to do. I put effort into every single part of my career. And I’m super thankful for this award.”
