Young Dolph’s partner Mia Jaye is mourning the loss of the 36-year-old rapper, but her hope was to see him grow old. After law enforcement sources confirmed the death of the “Get Paid” emcee, fans took to social media to express their condolences to Jaye, the mother of his two children and advocate for a campaign titled Black Men Deserve To Grow Old.

Jaye, who is also a podcaster and CEO of her own clothing brand, often promoted the campaign with t-shirts and lengthy posts that explained her intentions to keep Black men safe from gun violence and other brutal crimes.

“When God created each individual, he assigned them a task to fulfill and when these men are taken from this world prematurely, that Task… Purpose… Assignment may be left undone⁣,” she previously wrote next to a video of Dolph doing their daughter’s hair.

“So when I advocate for all the Black Men who are 20 times more likely than their other male counterparts, to die prematurely due to violent crime that happens within OUR community… I am advocating for these men to live out their Purpose and positively impact the Black Community. I am doing this for the Men in my family and Yours,” she continued.

In a more recent post, Jaye said that she is “always working on the low to find partnering organizations & people who believe in this cause to help me elevate the mission.”

Unfortunately, Jaye’s longtime partner, better known to the world as Young Dolph, passed away on Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 17). The rapper, who was featured on O.T. Genasis’ “Cut It,” was fatally shot as he purchased cookies at a Memphis shop called Makeda’s Cookies. Photos of the suspected gunman have surfaced since the incident, but he remains at large.
