Rod Wave has returned today (Nov. 15) with a brand new visual titled “By Your Side.” The new offering arrives after his last video “Already Won” featuring Lil Durk, which can be found on his SoulFly project from earlier this year. The freshly released Yawn Rico-curated visual features scenes of Rod living his life on the road, packed with shots of sold out shows, shopping sessions, scenery during road trips and more. On the song, Rod Wave addressed where he’s been:

It’s November, where the fuck is Rod Wave? Young n***a way outta state/ Fucked up, gettin’ over pain, look how far a n***a came, you remember I ain’t had a thing/ Fucked up, walkin’ through the rain at the top of the game, should’ve seen the n***as I was tryna bring/ It’s crazy the way these n***as change

Tell the city girl chill, you know baby mama know the deal/ She know I could beat that pussy, okay, let’s switch the subject/ Notice that both of my wrists is flooded I been grindin’ so hard, gеttin’ to this money

A few months ago, Rod Wave dropped off his aforementioned third studio LP SoulFly, which contained 19 tracks with a single feature from Polo G and was led by the well-received standouts “Tombstone” and “Street Runner.” He then circled back to liberating a deluxe edition of SoulFly, which adds on a healthy nine cuts, along with new contributions from Kodak Black and Lil Durk. SoulFly solidified the Floridian star’s stance as one of hip hop’s current frontrunners, landing him his first number one on the Billboard 200 thanks to 130,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release.
