This month (March 26), Rod Wave will release his third studio LP SoulFly, which will see 19 tracks and a single assist from Polo G. This week, the Floridian star unveils a new single from the forthcoming project titled “Street Runner,” a Karltin Bankz, LondnBlue, and TnTXD-produced offering that sees the artist reflecting on a relationship he seemingly doesn’t have enough time to properly nurture:

“Sorry I missed your call, I was on a jet, I been so zoned out, tryna figure out what’s next, so scared to fail, I’m calculatin’ my every step, gotta watch my back and keep my strap, but nonetheless…/

Directed and shot by Rod Wave alongside Yawn Rico and Eye 4 Production, the clip starts with a confirmation of his forthcoming album before we see him handling a typical artist schedule — taking flights, filming music videos, performing social distancing concerts for fans, and much more. It’s clear that Rod Wave’s current focus is to ensure that his career keeps progressing forward — even if love has to take an unfortunate backseat.

Upon its release, SoulFly will follow last year’s Pray 4 Love, which initially saw 14 tracks and some adlibs from ATR Son Son. The project landed Rod Wave at the number two spot on the Billboard 200 thanks to 72,000 album equivalent units sold during its first week of release. A deluxe edition of Pray 4 Love also made landfall month’s later.
