2020 was a productive year for M Huncho. First, he released his sophomore album Huncholini the 1st in January, which saw 13 tracks and features from Headie One, Nafe Smallz, and D-Block Europe. Not only did three of the album’s songs, “Bando Ballads,” “Thumb,” and “Pee Pee,” land on the UK Singles Chart, the project itself peaked within the top five of the UK Albums Chart following its first week of release. Then, just before Halloween, the masked artist teamed up with Nafe Smallz for the joint album DNA, another top ten placement that fully solidified his position as one of the top artists in his country.

Since then, we’ve received a couple of loose cuts from the masked emcee — “Overpriced” and “Breadwinner,” both of which saw production from Quincy Tellem and raised hopes that a new project might be in the works. Yesterday (Oct. 27), Huncho and Quincy delivered another single titled “Hiatus (Freestyle),” which sees the British talent harmonizing about getting to the bag:

“When I put two in two together, this shit ain’t really for me, fifty bags cash, I feel light, but we heavy, she wants to be the one, but I only came for headie, counting out these readies, money gave me semis, and this cash would give me hard-ons, it used to be a ’halfers, then it went to full bricks, I don’t do no Stardog, my shooter don’t need full clips, one up in the chamber, let him deal with these pricks, I’m jumping on stage, who woulda really thought that I’m gonna be a star? Sat and taught mysеlf the game I learnеd it from afar…”

The accompanying clip for “Hiatus (Freestyle)” begins with some dope shot of Paris, before Huncho can be seen both in the studio and out in a mountainous area with his crew. Clearly, Huncholini is doing fine on the financial front, and will sure be collecting more bags when he finally returns with a new body of work.
