Roddy Ricch celebrated his birthday by giving back to the man responsible for his existence: his father. The “High Fashion” emcee, who turned 23 on Oct. 22, revealed that he gifted his dad a luxury car.

“Got pops that 911 Porche Turbo S for my birthday. I LOVE YOU 4L,” he wrote. Alongside the caption was a picture of his father posing next to his silver foreign.

The purchase of the vehicle was likely possible due to the success the emcee has obtained since dropping his debut album in December of 2019. Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial, which featured guest appearances from Gunna, Lil Durk, Meek Mill, Ty Dolla $ign, Mustard and more, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, later making its way atop the chart, where it remained for four non-consecutive weeks.

The double platinum-selling project also earned Roddy Ricch a BET Award, BET Hip Hop Award, an AMA and a victory at the 2020 Apple Music Awards; his sophomore album may be just as worthwhile.

While discussing the upcoming project, he said that it will not drop until he’s certain that fans will listen straight through. “For us to drop the album, we gotta have a NO skip policy,” he teased earlier this month.

In addition to the album, Roddy will be working on the Laurence Fishburne-produced Sneaks, an animated film about a lost pair of sneakers in search of its “sole mate.” He joins NBA player Chris Paul, Ella Mai, Swae Lee as part of the star-studded cast.

“Our film will illuminate and pay homage to the forever growing and popular sneaker culture that continues to inspire and be inspired by musicians, athletes and artists alike, and I’m thrilled by the cast and crew who have decided to join us on the journey,” Fishburne said in a statement.
