Earlier this month, Curren$y dropped off his latest body of work Still Stoned On Ocean, the presumed continuation of the classic 2016 EP Stoned On Ocean. This go’ round, fans received 11 dope cuts with a couple of assists from Jim Jones and Fendi P. Over the weekend, the New Orleans legend delivered a new visual from Still Stoned On Ocean for “Game Tapes 2,” a Smitty Beatz and 808-Ray-produced effort that’s full of the vivid lyrical imagery we’ve come to know Curren$y for:

“Them buildings reaching high into the night sky, reality for me now was just a dream at one time, imagine myself up here full of weed and looking down, at the goings on of the town, sipping my brown, I might get dressed and mess around, come play the crib, play these beats, write a play out, that’s what the fuck I did, can’t keep giving you niggas everything, I got a kid, everything that I got is really his…”

The accompanying clip for “Game Tapes 2” comes courtesy of Polo Vision Media and sees Curren$y hanging out with his young son. He can also be seen performing the song in level locations throughout what’s presumed to be his residence, as well as outside with some of his classic vehicles in full view — including what looks like the official pace car from the Indianapolis 500 back in 1998.

2021 has seen Curren$y delivering more than enough music to his loyal fanbase — in addition to Still Stoned on Ocean, fans also received February’s The Collection Agency, June’s Welcome to Jet Life Recordings 2 with his Jet Life collective, August’s Highest in Charge with Trauma Tone, and September’s Matching Rolexes with Kino Beats. He even released the EP Financial District as an NFT in celebration of 4/20.
