Back in January, Asiahn shared her The Interlude EP and a few months afterwards she took it a step further by sharing live renditions of each song on the project. She now returns to present her latest single “Fall Back.” The track, an age-old tale of falling too hard and too fast, comes alongside a video that follows the intimate push-and-pull between two not-yet-official lovers as Asiahn rides the Dreek Beatz-produced beat:

Fall back, I know you on a mission, you tryna make me your Mrs/ But let me play my position, I know that I got something special, and I don’t wanna dismiss you/ Ain’t lookin’ for no commitment, I, I just wanna lay you, baby

I just wanna drive you crazy/ Can we take things a slower? You want me here to console you, I’m just tryna get to know you/ I know you feel a little different, don’t put me in this position, just sit back and let me finish, I just wanna lay you, baby, I just wanna drive you crazy

The songstress made sure to take some time to share a few words about what the song’s message is. “The story behind the song is, well, true,” she says via press release. “I know we’ve all been in a situation where we’re trying to get to know someone casually. Then, of course, she falls in love anyways. It’s a song telling that person to ‘fall back, you doing too much.’ Let’s just get to know each other and see if getting serious is even something we want to do.”

Asiahn is known for penning hits for massive stars like Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, Drake, Lil Wayne, and Dr. Dre. The aforementioned short and sweet The Interlude EP includes five tracks and features from Grandmaster Vic and Jordan Hawkins, clocking in at just under 13 minutes. The project follows her two installments of her Love Train series. The timing of the EP coincides with her healing journey.
