Anthony Johnson’s family will be able to lay him to rest with the service he deserves thanks to the generosity of Offset and others. On Sunday (Sept. 26), Johnson’s widow Lexis Jones Mason revealed to TMZ that the Migos rapper was one of several celebrities who reached out with funds after she said she was unable to pay for her late husband’s funeral.

According to the outlet, Offset contributed $5,000 to the Friday star’s service. Other celebrities, like Lil Rel Howery and comedian Michael Blackson, also donated hefty amounts. In addition to the donations, Mason told TMZ she received calls from Fat Joe, D.L. Hughley, Faizon Love, Michael Colyar, Tommy Davidson, D.C. Young Fly and Tyrin Turner.

As of Monday morning (Sept. 27), Mason’s Go Fund Me page has received over $55,000; vastly surpassing her $20,000 goal.

As reported by REVOLT, Johnson passed away earlier this month after he was found “lifeless” in a Los Angeles store. The 55-year-old was best known for his role in Friday as well as several other films, such as House PartyThe Players Club, B*A*P*S and I Got The Hook-Up.

On Wednesday (Sept. 22), Mason explained that Johnson didn’t have life insurance and said she was scrambling to gather the funds to bury him at California’s Rose Hills cemetery. At the time, she called out friends and fans who sent their “fake love,” but didn’t offer to help cover his homegoing costs.

Now that she’s received an influx of donations, Mason said she’s going to divide the extra money between Johnson’s four children and use the rest to start a standup comedy school for underprivileged youth in his honor.

According to Mason’s recent Instagram post, Johnson’s “celebrity friends” are hosting a comedy event on Tuesday (Sept. 28) to celebrate his life and legacy. A public viewing will also be held earlier that day. See her post below.
