When you hear the name Westside Gunn, two of the words that should always come to mind first are quality and consistent. There has not been a single time where the Buffalo rapper dropped anything mediocre. From his albums to his features, the Flygod will always deliver — which is why he’s one of the illest rappers to date. His ear for music is impeccable, a skill that most rappers lack. For that reason alone, it is easy for him to put out well orchestrated bodies of work every time. It was just two weeks ago where he released his highly acclaimed Hitler Wears Hermes 8: Sincerely, Adolf album and today (Sept. 24), WSG feeds the streets even more with Side B.

True fans of Gunn and the Griselda collective were elated when news broke of him dropping an extended version of the project. Some would consider Side A to be a classic in its own right, Side B just added more fuel to the fire. Since the release of Drake’s Certified Lover Boy and Kanye West’s Donda, there have been more than enough people making it clear where they stand on their “album of the year” pick and Westside Gunn was at the forefront. To have that type of support from your fanbase is truly something special — especially when the product holds top tier quality like HWH8.

In a recent sit down with Complex, the Griselda rapper spoke on the possibility of getting a Grammy award for HWH8 and why he doesn’t care for it: “I really don’t even be caring about Grammys, honestly. I won in the streets, bro. The shit that the Grammy dudes can do, I can do, but the shit I do, the Grammy dudes can’t do. So I already won in my eyes. I don’t even need those accolades. It doesn’t even make sense. We already know last year, Pray for Paris should have won a Grammy. It wasn’t even nominated. Nobody can teach me or tell me culture. Like, I’m in this shit.
