It’s crazy (not really, but really) that Lil Tecca is only 18 years old and has more hits than a great number of artists twice his age. Truth be told, that has not stopped him from keeping that same energy with his releases. Since his arrival in the industry just 3 years ago with the release of his single “Love Me,” the Queens artist has been making promising strides to reach his maximum potential — and of course, the love and hate is surely there but he has been more than prepared for it.

It was his 2019 smash hit “Ransom” that took the young rapper to greater heights and got his name some serious buzz. Being certified 4 time platinum in the United States alone, “Ransom” is the key that really unlocked many doors for him. Today (Aug 27), Tecca keeps his momentum going with the release of his sophomore studio album We Love You Tecca 2.

No one in music was more impacted by the year of the pandemic than the breakout stars of 2019. Artists who had just begun to see their careers take off and flourish suddenly saw their brakes being slammed on by COVID-19. Lil Tecca was one of those stars and a leading light in the crowded field of melodic young trappers. Instead of a grill, the rapper wore braces — you really don’t see that often. This day in age, rappers typically either put some diamonds in their mouths or go to South America for porcelain veneers (which is clearly a “thing” in the rap scene overall).

Lil Tecca’s debut mixtape, We Love You Tecca, had no features and went platinum, putting him in the exclusive “platinum with no features” club. Tecca took a different approach this go around with fans flooding the comment section to praise the guests he tapped for We Love You Tecca 2: Gunna, Trippie Redd, Chief Keef, Lil Yachty, and more!

Check it out.
