Kanye West’s Donda album listening event apparently did some major numbers.

According to a Monday (July 26) report from TMZ, the Donda listening event, which took place at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium last Thursday, has broken Apple Music’s global livestream record. A ridiculous 3.3 million viewers tapped in to watch Yeezy play the album and vibe out to his own tunes. The previous record was last year’s Verzuz matchup between Gucci Mane and Jeezy, which drew 1.8 million viewers.

Based on how much the album was discussed on Twitter, the 3.3 million viewer mark isn’t particularly surprising. Kanye’s albums have pretty much always been a spectacle. The Donda listening, with its setup revolving around the scene of Kanye enjoying his new music, was a lot like his 2016 listening for The Life of Pablo. That one took place in Madison Square Garden.

While Kanye’s listening party looked like it was a lot of fun, and plenty of people tuned in, fans were left a little disappointed when the new LP didn’t drop on Friday, which was the original release date for the project. Now, it’s set to be released on Aug. 6.

Kanye’s new LP includes reportedly features Lil Durk, Post Malone, Tyler, the Creator, Lil Baby, Playboi Carti, JAY-Z and more. The JAY-Z verse is one that finds Hov giving some insight into his relationship with Yeezy, which has seen its ups and downs over the years.

“Donda, I’m wit your baby when I touch back road,” Hov raps on the song. “Told him stop all that red cap, we goin’ home/Cannot be with all of these sins casting stones/This might be the return of The Throne/Hova and Yeezy like Moses and Jesus.”

Fans can hear more of Kanye’s epic collaborations for themselves when Donda drops on Aug. 6—assuming there aren’t anymore setbacks.
