Earlier this month, soulful Texas artist ‘Sekend debuted his newest single “Your Heart.” To keep the momentum going, the official music video for the song arrives today (July 23) and it serves to amplify the feel-good vibe the song already possesses. In the visual, ‘Sekend shares scenes of him busily working on his craft in the studio and then watching his hard work come into fruition as he plays an impromptu live outdoor show to a crowd of happy fans. As he transitions into an indoor show as well, he pumps up the crowd with his uplifting lyrics:
If it gets rough, let’s strap in tight/ Surrender your heart know it takes time/ Trust me baby down the line, this could be us (could be us)/ Multiple hearts that sing in tune, catch me baby ‘cause it takes two, there’s no limit to what we do/ Let’s et it off, set it off
Born Cedric Jackson II, ‘Sekend is a newly discovered pop and soul artist hailing from Dallas, TX. His journey as an artist began after his dreams of playing basketball were put to a hault after an injury, and he let the blessing in disguise lead him into the path he is currently on today as a recording artist. He’s most known for his contribution to Kanye West’s Sunday Service Choir since its inception. He’s worked on Jesus Is Born, the album and IMAX film, Jesus Is King.
Also adding onto his prolific resume, he performed at Coachella with the choir and sang background vocals for Jennifer Lopez and Shakira at Super Bowl LIV halftime show. So far this year, he has only released one other solo single “Wbym (Wanna Be Your Man).”
