DJ Scream and Big Bank share nothing but “Big Facts” in their podcast, as they chop it up with today’s popular figures in the entertainment industry.

DJ Scream and Big Bank return with another episode of the “Big Facts” podcast. This one is a doubleheader featuring Big Lex and rapper Juugman. The two stopped by to discuss reality television, managing their careers, and much more.

Hailing from Columbia, South Carolina; Big Lex already has a few records circulating the internet including “Never Running” and “Freaky Dancer.” However, she may be better known for her recent viral moment on Joseline Hernandez’s reality show “Joseline’s Cabaret.” Set in Miami, Florida, the series follows the “Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta” veteran and several exotic dancers as they live in a mansion and work together to try and put on a cabaret show.

Lex’s internet moment occurred after a fellow contestant recalled a difficult decision she made after finding out that she was pregnant with twins. The father of her unborn children was unwilling to be in their lives. She ultimately revealed she had an abortion, and Big Lex blurted out “double homicide,” creating the jaw-dropping moment. “She had aborted the twins, so I said double homicide, but I was thinking it, then said it,” she explained. She added although the contestants aren’t eliminated from the show, the woman eventually left following several altercations.

Lex also discussed some of the benefits artists have coming from less populated cities as a relatively new act. “It’s hard to catch opportunities coming out of a small town, but it’s good to be in a small town with big talent. It’s hard to come out of LA doing some shit when there’s 55 million people in LA doing something, but it’s not hard to come out of Columbia, South Carolina if you hot, you talented, and you consistent,” she explained.

“Small cities normally support people who come up out of them and then like a city like Atlanta—everybody out here supports everybody. That’s why people from Columbia, we move to Atlanta because, even though our city show you a lot of support, Atlanta show you a different type of support, so you know that’s what’s good.”

The female emcee hopes to focus more on her music and grow as an artist. Though Cardi B. garnered a very successful rap career following her brief appearance on “Love and Hip Hop: New York,” Lex admitted that the transition from reality television to music isn’t always well received.

“I feel like I had a good fanbase before I got on ‘Joseline’s Cabaret.’ The people who knew me before I got on the show always knew I was about my music and always been about my music,” she said. Lex added that thanks to the television platform, she gained new followers who have now become supporters—not just of the reality show—but her music.

Later on, the group was joined by Juugman, who shared what he’s been working on lately including plans to put out new music. He also discussed how his perception of the music industry has changed since the start of his career and how even some of his relationships have shifted.

“See this how it is… when I was out here grinding, the [love] be genuine ‘cause you ain’t got shit yet really and they know that. They know it’s a grind,” the rapper explained. “As soon as you get some shit or a motherfucka see you doing better, that same motherfucka who say, boy, you gone have it one day…be the same nigga who be hating.”

Juugman said in his experience, he’s seen friends start to change and want special treatment once he began to see even the slightest bit of success. However, he believes the majority of the time, it’s rooted in jealousy. “They gotta make you a problem, the smallest thing. You can step on somebody shoe. You can be a nigga best friend as soon as you get straight, it be, ‘Damn boy, you ain’t say excuse me.’ Any little thing,” he continued.

Still, he remains positive even when met with hardships in his career, stating, “Still ‘til this day, I probably live better than 90 percent of the niggas that hate on me.” He added, “I don’t talk flamboyant or brag about that shit cause I know at the end of the day that shit could be gone.”
