First off, major congrats are in order for Morraythe Fayetteville star has joined the likes of Pooh Shiesty, Coi Leray, Flo Milli, Toosii, 42 Dugg, and Rubi Rose as a member of this year’s XXL Freshman class, an honor that’s sure to further raise his profile. Perhaps in celebration of this achievement, today sees him liberating a new visual for “Mistakes,” a Dystinkt Beats and SephGotTheWaves-produced effort that’s centered around Morray keeping it real about his struggles, his transgressions, and how far he’s come today, both financially and overall:

“Money will never change me, Ben Franks for the dubs, that’s how I change things, two-faced friends acting different, these niggas acting like changelings, I’m getting lit ‘cause a nigga know I got to maintain things, call it sustaining, ‘cause if I fall who are they blaming? Pockets full of hundreds, never thought that I could have it, living my best life, stress free, finally happened, don’t gotta cap shit, now I’m making it off of rapping…”

Directed by Christian Breslauer, the accompanying clip begins with Morray speaking his truth in a confessional booth. Things quickly change to the Pick Six talent standing in an empty room, which brings forth certain parts of the song to life — including a rich version of himself feasting while opposite his mirror image during lesser times. Morray can also be spotted showing off his spoils and spraying champagne with a butler standing nearby, as footage of the Black Lives Matter protests play from a projector.

“Mistakes” is taken from Morray’s official debut mixtape Street Sermons, a well-received 13-track body of work that boasts singles like “Can’t Use Me,” “Nothing Now,” and “Quicksand,” Morray’s breakthrough single that’s since landed him on the Billboard Hot 100 and crossed the Gold certification mark. In addition to that release, Morray’s vocals can now also be heard on J. Cole’s The Off-Season standout “m y . l i f e.”
