Over the last few weeks, Cantrell has been rolling out his five-part short film series to accompany his Beware the Sheep Clothing EP. Now, as his final installment of the journey, he premieres “Kiss of Judas,” which features his own final portrayal of Muhammed Ali that represents parallels of rifts he faces on his own personal journey. On the track, he flows effortlessly over the soulful beat:

Ain’t no ducking and dodging n***a, it’s more like hoopin’ ‘cause we ballin n***a/ I’m Michael Jeffery, you niggas Hefty, you garbage n***a/ You don’t fit the equation but I’m the problem n***a?

Tell me, how you figure? Figure 4 how I figure mo’, I got a leg up/ Rock Bottom to these demons I wrestle/ I know the journey got a Sting to it, I’m on their head now they jealous

As his final offering of the series, it’s only right that it’s his most personal. Cantrell made sure to take time to sit and break down the intention behind the new visual. “Kiss of Judas is the most personal record on the EP. The title itself represents how moments of disloyalty and selfishness from others can actually open the door to bigger and better for you,” he tells REVOLT. “My manager conceptualizing Don King into my final portrayal of Muhammad Ali was the perfect fit, being that I can relate to the rift between Ali and King by way of my own unfortunate encounters on this journey. Details like that, make the art we have even better to me.”

The aforementioned Beware the Sheep Clothing includes features from Doeman and Grip, and the corresponding visuals for both tracks with the features are available now. Most recently, Cantrell can be heard handing out assists on projects like Caleborate’s Light Hit My Skin, Rob Markman’s If You Don’t You’ll Regret It, and the intro track of A-Lex’s From A Seed (Deluxe).
