If you’re not familiar with Danny Wolf, you should be. Originally aligned with Hoodrich Entertainment, the Mexican-born, Atlanta-based beatsmith has now become one of hip hop’s most soght after, crafting hit records with the likes of PARTYNEXTDOOR, Lil Uzi Vert, Juice WRLD, Rich The Kid, A$AP Ferg, ILOVEMAKONNEN, Kevin Gates, PnB Rock, and countless others. This week, he connects with Lil Baby for the hard-hitting new single “Slidin,” providing the perfect, creeping backdrop for the Quality Control star’s boastful bars:

“They know we gon’ fuck ‘em up, they don’t come outside, everybody know it’s up, we can’t let it slide, I don’t call the bro for none, they already run, you know not let go for none, soon they’ll be cryin’/

Imma cash out before I crash out, all my whips came white and black and I’m a cash cow, know I started in the back, I’m on they ass now, brand new titties got some ass she actin’ bad now…”

Directed by Cameron Nichols, the accompanying visual for “Slidin” sees Lil Baby, Danny Woof, and — occasionally — other crew members in what looks like different locations of a beautifully designed house, playing cards, enjoying tequila, performing on a four-wheeler (that’s inside said home), and more.

Lil Baby has quickly become one of the biggest names in hip hop — especially during the quarantine months. Last year saw him release his sophomore studio album My Turn, which saw 20 tracks with additional assists from Gunna, 42 Dugg, Future, Uzi, Lil Wayne, Moneybagg Yo, and Young Thug. Months later, he would upgrade My Turn with a deluxe edition, adding on seven more cuts — including the chart-toppers “We Paid” and “The Bigger Picture.” In addition to a wealth of show-stealing verses on songs from his peers, Lil Baby also liberated loose cuts like “Errbody,” “On Me” with Megan Thee Stallion, “Real As It Gets” with EST Gee, and “Ramen & OJ” with Joyner Lucas.
