Although he’s put out quality singles and cohesive projects, Deante Hitchcock rose to popularity through his authentic freestyles from the front seat of his whip. He has always kept that same spirit alive, and he recently even dropped his take on Lil Wayne’s classic “Let The Beat Build.” He’s now back with his latest offering, tackling Spillage Village’s “Baptize” beat. The new accompanying visual sees Deante looking at his own reflection as he lets his bars do the talking:

Come one, come all, it’s the apoca-lock-ya-lips, or get popped with da pocket rocket/ Shipped us ‘cross the transatlantic, da damage deep as dat agua is/ Nah dis ain’t my strap, dis my patna shit. Baby where I stay, we all be sharin’ guns/ Sharin’ gangs like sasuke, Ted dibiase, I say ase to my misses/

She call me God, she be trippin’/ But I be trippin’ cause I ain’t see enough God in me then to listen/ Now it’s different. But I’m still the same n***a in some capacities. So please don’t say my name in vain cause niggas will blasphemy/

Prior to this was his take on Drake’s newest hit “What’s Next,” where Hitchcock spits his own bars over the recognizable beat while riding around his city. Last year, Deante dropped of the deluxe version of his BETTER album. The initial BETTER project included guest features from names like JID, Young Nudy, 6LACK, Miguel, and St. Beauty. The body of work doubled in length as Deante unveiled a two-disc deluxe version (20-tracks long) with additional features from Kenny Mason, Reason, Ro James, Jaelspeaks, and Guapdad 4000. Before that, Hitchcock dropped off his projects Just A Sample 2 and Good in 2019 and 2016, respectively.
