Beyoncé has shown her support for Meghan Markle following the Duchess of Sussex’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired earlier this week. On her official website, the mega-star saluted her friend’s “courage” and “leadership.”

“Thank you Meghan for your courage and leadership. We are all strengthened and inspired by you,” Bey wrote.

This isn’t the first time that the “Savage (Remix)” singer has shown her support for Meghan. Back in 2019, she and her husband JAY-Z posed in front of a portrait of the actress.

“In honor of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas,” Bey captioned the Instagram post at the time. “Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy.”

Meghan’s interview with Oprah shocked the world on Monday (March 8). The 39-year-old shared her struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts while being a member of the royal family and revealed there were “conversations” and “concerns” about “how dark” her son’s skin would be.

While British TV host Piers Morgan quit his show “Good Morning Britain” after making controversial remarks about Meghan’s mental health, many others have offered the former “Suits” star their support.

“I am so proud of you for being so brave,” Serena Williams wrote to Meghan, her “selfless friend,” on Instagram.

“I know first hand the sexism and racism institutions and the media use to vilify women and people of color to minimize us, to break us down and demonize us,” she continued. “We must recognize our obligation to decry malicious, unfounded gossip and tabloid journalism. The mental health consequences of systemic oppression and victimization are devastating, isolating and all too often lethal.”

It was also reported that Tyler Perry helped to get the couple back on their feet after they departed from their royal duties last year.

“We didn’t have a plan. We needed a house and he offered his security as well,” Markle revealed in the interview. “He offered us breathing room to try to figure out what we were going to do.”
