Diddy pays for families’ rent, hands out gift cards and essential items in Miami

Even though Christmas is over, Sean “Diddy” Combs is still in the holiday spirit. On Tuesday (Dec. 29), REVOLT Media & TV’s chairman helped out hundreds of people in need by paying families’ rent, as well as handing out gift cards and essential items in the Overtown area of Miami, Florida.

Combs decided to orchestrate a rent assistance program, which was then used to help the aforementioned families who were struggling to make ends meet during the Coronavirus pandemic.

As many are aware of by now, the virus’ quick widespread and the resulting business shutdowns caused many people to lose their jobs because of companies losing money, thus making them unable to keep their employees onboard.

So, Puff knew that he had to assist in any way he could. Rocking a mask to protect himself and the event’s attendees, he gave back in the major way. His three daughters and son Christian were also in there to lend a helping hand — or several.

Before the occasion, Diddy made sure to post the upcoming event on his Instagram Stories. “If you know someone in need, spread the word,” he wrote. “More info at TeesMiami.org.”

Over 3,000 Overtown residents showed up for the event, which took place at House of Wings from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. ET, and everyone seemed very appreciative.

When a Miami reporter at the event asked Puff how he felt about being there, he replied, “I’m just happy to be here. I’m just happy to do able to do something positive.” See that moment below

This giveaway isn’t the first time that the mogul has given back during this difficult year. Earlier this year when it was discovered that COVID-19 was disproportionately affecting Black and brown people, Combs hosted a “State of Emergency: Black America & Coronavirus” townhall to educate his people on how to protect themselves and their families.

Back in April, Puff also hosted an hours-long dance-a-thon on Instagram Live that raised over $4 million for healthcare workers. A couple of weeks after that, he launched “Our Fair Share,” a platform that’s mission is to help assist minority entrepreneurs and small businesses connect to much-needed and hard-to-find capital, while the economy is continuing to be negatively affected by Coronavirus.
