On Thursday (Dec. 10), Hollywood took another loss when it was reported that Tommy “Tiny” Lister, who was most known for his role as Deebo in the movie Friday, passed away.
Following the grief-stricken news, Ice Cube reacted to the loss, and now a few more of the actor’s loved ones are taking to social media to react to Lister’s sudden death.
Ice-T and Lister acted in several movies together, including the 1992 film Trespass and the 1999 movies Judgment Day and Stealth Fighter. On Friday (Dec. 11), in an Instagram message to the late star, he wrote, “I lost another very close friend yesterday. My homie Tiny Lister passed away…. I’m speechless. We did many films together and were close personal friends.. RIP Debo.”
The “Law and Order” star later took to Twitter to announce that he will be honoring Lister on his page for the remainder of the day. “I’m dedicating my page today as a Tribute to my close friend ‘Tiny Lister’ aka Debo, aka Zeus, aka Cleatus..,” he wrote. “Gone far to[o] soon. Rest easy big homie. Love u.”
LL Cool J — who appeared alongside Lister in an episode of the 90s sitcom “In the House” — memorialized the actor in a post that read, “Rest in power my brother. You brought us all so much joy.”
Magic Johnson sent prayers to the family and loved ones of Lister, his “good friend of over 30 years,” and Jamie Foxx said the actor “did so much for our culture and so much for the world.”
As REVOLT previously reported, Lister was found unconscious in his Marina Del Rey apartment on Thursday (Dec. 10), and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders believed he might have died of natural causes, but CNN later reported that he passed away after experiencing COVID-19 symptoms. His cause of death will ultimately be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.
