Donald Trump has been accusing Joe Biden of corruption in the election, but in a recent tweet, his usage of words led many to believe that he thinks the Trump administration will soon come to an end.
On Friday (Dec. 11), the president took to Twitter to express his thoughts on the COVID-19 vaccine and of course, the election, which he claims was riddled with deception.
He tweeted, “Now that the Biden Administration will be a scandal plagued mess for years to come, it is much easier for the Supreme Court of the United States to follow the Constitution and do what everybody knows has to be done. They must show great courage & wisdom. Save the USA!!!”
Trump’s tweet seemingly referred to his recent request that the Supreme Court invalidate millions of votes that were casted for Biden in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
People, however, ignored the context of the tweet, focusing specifically on Trump’s reference to the future “Biden administration.” They concluded that POTUS unknowingly conceded his defeat, and the words “Trump conceded” became a trending topic.
“Funny way to say ‘I concede the election and congratulate Joe Biden on his victory,’ but good enough,” read one tweet.
In another post, one user joked that Trump will “claim Twitter is rigged and then file a lawsuit against them” once he notices how people construed his tweet.
A Trump supporter claimed the president’s message wasn’t an acknowledgment of his loss, but a plea for SCOTUS to prevent the Biden administration from taking over.
“OK ENOUGH. This is him clearly saying a Biden administration WOULD be so bad that the Supreme Court has to stop it from happening,” she wrote. “This is not a concession. You can’t trick him into conceding. Stop these stupid trends like #TrumpConceded and take the coup seriously.”
Nearly a month ago, Trump made his first statement regarding Biden’s victory, acknowledging that he “won” the election because it was “rigged.”
In a similar fashion, Twitter users interpreted his post as a concession, but Trump immediately shut down the rumors. “He only won in the eyes of the FAKE NEWS MEDIA. I concede NOTHING! We have a long way to go. This was a RIGGED ELECTION!” the president wrote at the time.
