Back in 2016, Chance the Rapper and Jeremih came together to release the holiday-themed project Merry Christmas Lil’ Mama, which originally saw nine upbeat tracks from the Chicago stars. The following year, they unveiled a Re-Wrapped upgrade that contained 10 additional cuts for fans to enjoy. Today, Chance and Jeremih make their return to the series by dropping Merry Christmas Lil’ Mama: The Gift That Keeps On Giving, which takes songs from the aforementioned offerings and adds on “Who’s To Say” and “The Return,” the latter of which is now accompanied by a visual that shows Chance performing in different parts of his well-decorated residence.

In addition to a social media-only release (the Lil Wayne and Young Thug-assisted “Instagram Song 8”), this year has also seen Chance The Rapper co-starring on tracks like Brandy’s “Baby Mama,” Baha Bank$ “Shake Dat A$$,” Ludacris’ “Found You,” MadeinTYO’s “BET Uncut,” and Justin Bieber’s “Holy.”

While 2020 saw Jeremih collaborating on tracks from Burna Boy, Fat Joe and Dre, Casanova, Ne-Yo, and more, the R&B artist unfortunately found himself fighting for his life in November thanks to COVID-19. Thankfully (and with the aid of peers like Chance and Diddy), Jeremih appears to have made a full recovery — he took to Instagram to thank everyone for their prayers during his time in the hospital.

In related news, various outlets have reported that Chance the Rapper is currently facing a lawsuit from former manager Pat Corcoran, who claims that the rapper owes him more than $3 million in commissions. The lawsuit also states that Chance the Rapper blamed — and subsequently fired — Corcoran over the negative responses about his debut album The Big Day, which made landfall back in 2019. Chance’s team has since denied all accusations made.
