It’s been a little more than a year since Lil Tjay liberated his debut studio album True 2 Myself, which saw 17 tracks and features from Rileyy Lanez, Jay Critch, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, and Lil Wayne. Since then, The New York artist has delivered loose singles like “Go In,” “20/20,” “First Place” with Polo G, and — most recently — “Losses.” Now, he returns with another dope cut titled “Move On,” which is produced by Avery On The Beat and sees Lil Tjay ready to focus on himself following what sounds like a toxic relationship:

“Back when I met you I thought you were special, something ‘bout you, just couldn’t forget you, swear to God, I regret how you played me, can’t believe I was me and I let you, bet you gon’ miss all them nights when I sex you/

Bet you gon’ miss when I’m hard to get next to, bet you gon’ miss all those roses and petals, where you gon’ look when you ready to settle?/”

Back in May, Lil Tjay liberated the well-received EP State Of Emergency, which saw seven tracks and features from Jay Gwuapo, Sheff G, Sleepy Hallow, Fivio Foreign, and the late Pop Smoke. One of the tracks, “Zoo York,” also saw an even bigger remix with the additions of French Montana following the original’s release. Tjay could also be heard on his peers’ tracks like Polo G’s “First Place” and Pop Smoke’s “Mood Swings.”

In a past interview with Complex, Lil Tjay spoke on what he learned during his unfortunate time spent in prison:

“I learned how to be true to myself. I learned how to be militant, and how to think of things by myself. When you’re incarcerated, you don’t have anybody. You have to learn how to think for yourself.”
