NBA fans got some of the best news they’ve heard in a minute thanks to LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. Being that the L.A. team defeated the Denver Nuggets in Game 5 of the NBA playoffs on Saturday (Sept. 26) with a score of 117 – 107, the Lakers will officially appear in the Finals. Why is this news even more dope than usual? This will be the first time since 2010 that the team will be play in them!

Videos of James highlights during the game, as well as fans’ reactions to his skill were all the talk on Twitter as people tuned in to witness him in GOAT mode. From his full court passes to his shots and more, James was all the way activated tonight in order to get to the Finals by any means necessary. And he was a success.

Needless to say, the social media reactions were priceless and fans were here for the major milestone that James offered the team, which hadn’t played in that final rounds of the playoffs for a whole decade.

“You can’t tell me that LeBron James is not the MVP of the league with a 38-16-10 performance tonight to lead the @Lakers to the NBA Finals!” NBA legend Magic Johnson tweeted.

Twitter users even took the time to remember the relationship that James had with the late Kobe Bryant, the last NBA player to lead the Lakers to the Finals before James tonight. “8 months ago on this day, @kobebryant and Gianna Bryant tragically left us. Tonight, the @Lakers advance to the NBA Finals! In your honor Kobe and Gigi,” @LupeLLerenas tweeted.

“Oh, boy. I don’t wanna cry this early. All for Kobe. All for Lakers nation. Lebron got you, Mr. Bryant. King James will make history in your name,” another Twitter user named @FinnPong2 said.

James’ appearance in the upcoming 2020 NBA Finals will mark his 10th appearance in them — and with three different teams: the Cleveland Cavilers, Miami Heat, and now the L.A. Lakers.

Mamba would be proud.
