On Monday (June 22), Lil Yachty was involved in a scary car accident after a slick Atlanta freeway caused him to hydroplane. According to TMZ, the “Oprah’s Bank Account” rapper was driving during a rainstorm on Georgia State Route 400 when his red Ferrari hit a large amount of water on the road, causing him to spin out and crash into the shoulder of the freeway.

The outlet reported that an emergency response crew did arrive to the scene of the crash, although it’s unclear if Yachty was taken to a hospital. Thankfully, the 22-year-old reportedly only suffered minor injuries from the accident.

“So thankful for my life. Never take it for granted,” he seemingly tweeted about the crash on Tuesday (June 23).

However, the fate of Yachty’s car was not as lucky. In two photos shared to Twitter, the rapper revealed the extensive damage done to the Ferrari he’d been driving.

Last month saw the arrival of Yachty’s third and final Lil Boat series installment, Lil Boat 3. The 19-track album featured Young Thug, Drake, DaBaby, Lil Keed, Lil Durk, Future, Mike WiLL Made-It, A$AP Rocky, Tyler, the Creator, Tierra Whack and Draft Day.

According to the Billboard 200 chart, Lil Boat 3 peaked at No. 13 earlier this month. The project included Yachty’s viral hit “Oprah’s Bank Account,” which saw assists from Drake and DaBaby. Speaking with Complex, Yachty previously explained how the mega-collaboration came about.

“DaBaby, he had a meet and greet in Atlanta, and I went… I hung out with him for three or four hours there, and I was like, ‘You want to go to the studio?’ He came and I played it, and he loved it,” Yachty told the outlet. “He thought it was a hit, so he hopped on it, which was really cool.”

“…I posted a snippet on my finsta. Drake follows my finsta, which is crazy,” he continued. “And he was like, ‘Yo, this is dope,’ which blew my mind. Of course that’s the homie, but him showing love like that, [was cool]. Then he [told me to] send it through. I didn’t know he was serious, but he got on it.”
