The match-making app — a private, membership-based platform for “Jews with ridiculously high standards” in 2020 — allows various singles to come together through “more personable conversations and connections.” Unlike the typical dating apps, however, The Lox Club makes these connections with the help of a “real-life matchmaker” rather than the sole use of algorithms.
According to Rolling Stone, Adam Kluger, who previously managed Bhad Bhabie and helped Lil Yachty secure investments with Reese’s Puffs, eBay, Adidas, and Burger King — learned about the dating app through some of his friends.
He then encouraged both stars to make the $1 millon investment into the app alongside his Scoop Investments. It is the first time the agent successfully paired celebrities for an investment.
“J-Date screams desperation, J-Swipe is just a piece of shit. There’s a real gap in the marketplace,” Kluger said. “I was just so surprised at how cool it was. Yachty and Bhabie saw the passion when I was talking about and everyone started asking me questions. Eventually I said we should come together and do it as a group.”
“Big bag bhabie excited to be a part of @loxclub,” Bhad Bhabie wrote in an Instagram post after the news announced. “Love and bagels biches.” Lil Yachty thoughts on his latest investment have not been disclosed.
Though the app is marketed to the Jewish community, anyone is open to fill out an application. “Lox Club is like a deli; it’s culturally Jewish, but you don’t have to be Jewish to enjoy it,” read a press release. Members of the community do, however, screen applications to determine whether someone is a right fit for the group.
“Lox Club values authentic, well-rounded people with ambitious dreams and careers who can make you both think and laugh, regardless of their Instagram following,” the release continued.
