Bill Cosby is asking his supporters to help make Boosie Badazz’s new movie a success. On Wednesday (Sept. 29), the embattled comedian repaid Boosie’s years of support by promoting My Struggle, the Baton Rouge native’s recently released biopic.

“Lil Boosie, I have always appreciated your truth and support,” Cosby wrote on Instagram. “What I’m about to say, is not to compensate you because you supported Bill Cosby. My publicist, Mr. Andrew Wyatt told me about your film, My Struggle and I am encouraging all of my supporters and fans to make this American Citizen, Lil Boosie’s film, My Struggle a box office success.”

Boosie caught wind of the shoutout and tweeted, “THANKS BILL COSBY MEANS ALOT COMING FROM YOU.”

My Struggle aired on Boosie’s website on Friday (Sept. 24). He previously claimed it made just under $1 million on its first day of release, but complained about bootleggers uploading the film to YouTube and other sites.

MARTIN LUTHER KING would be pissed off right now to see y’all mfs not supporting black excellence and buying my movie but going to YouTube and other websites making the WHITE MAN RICH !” the rapper tweeted.

Boosie was also recently banned from Instagram again, which he said was an attempt to sabotage his movie-promoting efforts.

“PLEASE CONTINUE TO BUY MY FILM DESPITE THIS MOVE TO STOP THE SUCESS OF MY STRUGGLE,” he wrote. “YALL ALL I GOT AGAINST THESE POWERFUL PEOPLE. BUY IT TWICE TO BOOST MY FIRST WEEK NUMBERS THANKS.”

Earlier this week, Cosby showed support for another controversial figure: R. Kelly. On Wednesday, Cosby’s spokesperson Andrew Wyatt told TMZ that the 84-year-old believes Kelly was “railroaded” during his racketeering and sex trafficking trial. According to Wyatt, “The Cosby Show” star also blames prosecuting attorney Gloria Allred, who represented several of Kelly’s and Cosby’s accusers, for the trial’s outcome.

As reported by REVOLT, Kelly was found guilty of one count of racketeering; 14 underlying acts of sexual exploitation of a child, bribery, kidnapping and sex trafficking; and eight counts of violating the Mann Act.
