Kodak Black is reneging his claims that he survived a plane crash alongside boxer Gervonta Davis.

Over the weekend, the 26-year-old professional fighter surprised fans when he revealed that he had lived through a plane wreck. Taking to his social media accounts, he said that he was “good.” Kodak Black, however, seemed to have a different reaction.

Moments after Davis announced the news of his accident, the rapper took to Twitter to reveal that he was also on the private jet, noting he was in pain after the incident. “I Was On Dat Jet Wit @Gervontaa & I’m Not Ok,” he tweeted. “Shittt Me, My Neck, My Back all dat.”

Comments flooded with concern as social media users worried about Kodak’s well being, prompting the emcee to make another admission hours later: He was just joking. “Man I Was Just Playing Lol,” he clarified in a second tweet. “People can’t take jokes fa shit these days.”

While Kodak’s “admission” was just a “joke,” the incident that Davis experienced was a real occurrence. According to ESPN, the boxer and four to ten passengers were on a private jet headed to Las Vegas on Saturday (Aug. 21) when the plane experienced nose gear failure — which caused the pilot to lose control of the plane — and eventually collapsed.

No one on the plane was transported to the hospital afterward, but an unnamed patient — who denied offers to go to the hospital —was treated by paramedics on-site. As for Davis, he walked away from the incident unscathed but admitted he was sweating and shaking. In his Instagram post addressing the crash, he revealed that the experience and the subsequent shock marked the end of his usage of private jets.

“For everybody that want to fly private, I think it’s over with,” he said. “...I’m driving or catching a train.”
