Frank Ocean will reportedly headline Coachella 2023

The Goldenvoice CEO confirmed the news.

Frank Ocean fans — rejoice. On Monday (Aug. 2), the CEO of Goldenvoice revealed to the Los Angeles Times that the elusive rapper is set to headline Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2023.

“Right now, it’s the Wild West,” Paul Tollett, who co-founded the California-based music festival, told the outlet. “I’m just trying to be as fair as I can to artists and to the fans to make sure that eventually they get to see everyone that we talked about.”

Of course, Ocean was scheduled as a performer for the Coronavirus-plagued 2020 edition of Coachella, along with acts like Travis Scott, Rage Against the Machine and many more. After being canceled two years in a row, festival organizers announced that Coachella would return next April, albeit without Ocean. Besides the “Chanel” artist, no other acts for the 2023 installment of the festival have been announced.

While many festivals returned this year, some — like Coachella — are waiting until 2022 to fully kick things off. Such is the case with Lovers & Friends, which was recently announced to be taking place at Las Vegas’ Festival Grounds next May.

As reported by REVOLT, the first installment of the festival will see headlining performances by Ms. Lauryn Hill, Usher, Ludacris, Lil Jon, TLC, Ciara and Nelly, while the likes of Ashanti, Brandy, Monica, Ne-Yo, Trey Songz, Akon, Ja Rule, Timbaland, T-Pain, Lil Kim, Fabolous and more will also perform.

The announcement arrives after festivals like JAY-Z’s Made In America, Global Citizen Live, Once Upon a Time in L.A., Day N Vegas, Rolling Loud and others returned or are set to make their returns this year.

Frank Ocean fans haven’t had a chance to see him on the Coachella stage since 2012. Later this month, the 33-year-old will celebrate the five-year anniversary of his platinum-selling sophomore album, Blonde.
