Donda is coming to the Soldier Field stadium in Chicago. After hosting two wildly successful listening parties for his 10th studio album in Atlanta, Kanye West announced his third and latest event for the record on Wednesday (Aug. 18), which will take place in his hometown next week.
On Instagram, the Jesus Is King rapper deleted several of his previous posts and shared a simple flyer for the event. According to the post, the Donda “show” will kick off at Soldier Field at 9 p.m. CST next Thursday, Aug. 26. Tickets for the event go on sale this Friday (Aug. 20) at noon CST.
Abou “Bu” Thiam, Ye’s manager, also shared the listening party’s flyer on his Instagram account and gave hope to fans who are waiting for Donda’s official release. When a fan commented on the post, “After this will he finally drop the album?” Thiam responded, “Absolutely!”
Since previewing Donda at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium last month, Kanye’s album listening parties have drawn widespread attention. Rumors about a potential third event at Soldier Field began circulating earlier this week after an employee at the stadium claimed a “major concert event” was being planned. Another person also tweeted that Kanye was moving to a different stadium to finish Donda, but that rumor was later debunked.
So far, Ye has previewed different versions of the album during his livestream events. As reported by REVOLT, the 44-year-old’s last listening party set an Apple Music record when 5.4 million viewers tuned in to livestream the show. Kanye also earned a massive $7 million from in-person merchandise sales alone during the listening party.
However, Donda’s official streaming release date is anyone's guess. On Apple Music, the album is currently listed to be dropping on Aug. 27, which would be the day after Kanye’s listening party. The platform also says Donda features The Weeknd, Lil Baby and “a wealth of [Kanye’s] favorite voices.”
